Hi, I'm Becky, and I'm a member/volunteer at Midtown Crossing Clubhouse in Indianapolis. Click here to learn more about the program. I can't say enough positive things about it. I'm getting my life back because of this program.

I'm 27, I have schizoaffective disorder, I have a B.A. in journalism and I'm pursuing a degree in multimedia (I want to be a web designer). I currently work as the webmaster of MyWarOnPoverty.Com, a web site that talks about poverty in the United States. I started the site as a way to teach myself web design, to serve as an outlet for my journalism skills, and to make an income (not doing so hot on that last part). I try to advocate for the rights of the mentally ill--most recently I got a hospital cited for improper restraint of psychiatric inpatients.

I'm probably going to lurk around just to listen to the stories and possibly to write about my experiences with the system as a consumer and as a volunteer. Just thought I'd say hi.

My friend is babysitting a little boy and I'm wondering if any of you could give me an idea or a direction in which to figure out what is going on with him. :) He's super cute, just a sweetie and never cries but his pupils go right into his irises, so like his eyes are "normal" on top and then a longer pupil. His eyes and mouth aren't misshapen per say but they're a little "off" and his belly is all swelled up, and his cheeks and hands are red. He's ten months old, doesn't sit or crawl or say anything yet. I know few of us are doctors, or whatever, and I'm not looking for a diagnosis, just any ideas anyone might have.

Thanks!

Hi, I am a student in the UK, i am studying a joint degree of mental health nursing and social work. I am in my second year and have varying experiences in the field of mental health. I want to work (i think at the moment) with adult mental health poss. acute or forensics and i think i like the idea of combining the health care role and the medical side. I am looking forward to discussing issues here and talking through problems. i understand that the UK is slightly different both for diagnosis and the legislation involved but hopefully that will just teach me more!
